Weekend Report

Local:

-BIG 105 presents Boonstock out in Gibbons. Three days of music including Matt Good and The Offspring.

-The Motorcycle Ride for Dad is tomorrow with registration at 8:00am with the ride leaving at 9:30am sharp. Registration is $25 at Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson.

-BIG 105 presents The Woody’s Triathlon with the Kids of Steel on Saturday and the adult sprint and relays on Sunday.


Sports:

-Tonight the Red Deer TBS Rampage take on the Calgary Junior Mounties at the Kinex.

-Red Deer Ladies Fastball Association annual tournament runs all weekend at Lacombe Kinsmen Park. Game one goes Friday at 7:00pm.

-Saturday, the Red Deer Buccaneers tackle the Calgary Gators, 6:00pm at Great Chief.


Film:

-Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

-Grown Ups with Adam Sandler and the old SNL crew.


Saturday Night Live is repeating the Taylor Lautner episode with musical guest Bon Jovi.

Weekend Report

Local:

-The Fantastic Fabulous Fun Day For Families goes tomorrow 11am at Notre Dame High School. Raising funds for the drama students to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Tickets are $10 per family and that includes 20 games tickets.

-Red Deer Artwalk Festival goes Saturday at Rotary Park East. The party gets underway at 9am with the art market running all day.

-A pancake breakfast for Father’s Day at the Port o Call Safeway Saturday 7:30am to 10:30. $5 per person and proceeds funding prostate cancer research in Canada.

- Fundraiser for the victims of the fire on Wild Rose Drive in Sylvan Lake goes tomorrow at noon at the Boston Pizza in Sylvan.


Sports:

-Sunburst Baseball League action at Great Chief Park as part of the fifth annual Red Deer Stags Classic. Both the Stags and Riggers are taking part all weekend.

-Saturday the Red Deer Buccaneers take on the Lancaster Legion at Great Chief Park.


Film:

-Toy Story 3 which people have been waiting 10 years for.

-Jonah Hex with Josh Brolin and Megan Fox, based on the DC comic.


Saturday Night Live is showing the Betty White episode with musical guest Jay-Z.

Weekend Report

Local:

-BIG 105 proud to present the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life tonight at the Crossroads Church Ground.

- BIG 105 also presents the 16th Annual Rona MS Bike Tour Saturday and Sunday with the funds raised helping create a future free of MS.

- Old Time Country Fair runs Satureday at the Davenport Church of Christ parking lot on Don Levy Avenue in Deer Park. Food, games, a garage sale and more.


Sports:

-The Red Deer TBS Rampage lacrosse team takes on the Saskatchewan Swat 8:30 tonight at the Kinex.

-Good luck to the Red Deer Riggers and Stags taking part in the 2010 Tigers Baseball Tournament in St. Albert this weekend. Both teams guaranteed three games.


Film:

-The Karate Kid with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. I think I’ll stick with Ralph Macchio.

-The A-Team with Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper.


Saturday Night Live is a repeat with Alec Baldwin with musical guest Tom Petty.

Weekend Report

Local:

-BIG 105 presents The Central Alberta Children’s Festival goes today and tomorrow at Rec Centre Park. Tickets are $5 or $15 for a family of four and available at the gate.

-Blackfalds Days this weekend with the carnival this afternoon, the dance at the multi plex at 7:00pm with the pancake breakfast Saturday at 7:00 am and parade at 11:00am.

-And a benefit dance will be held for the victims of the fire on Wildrose Drive in Sylvan. It runs tonight at 7:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion.


Sports:

-Red Deer Rebels Spring Prospects camp this weekend at the Red Deer Arena. The on ice sessions are open to the public.

-The Red Deer Buccaneers home opener goes tomorrow at 6:00pm as they take on the Grande Prairie Drillers at Great Chief Park.

-In baseball, the Riggers are in St. Albert, theTriple A Midget Carstar Braves and Servus Credit Union Braves are in Sherwood Park for the Doc Plotsky tournament.


Film:

-For the kids, Marmaduke, based on the comic strip, featuring the voice of Owen Wilson.

-Killers featuring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl.

-Get Him to the Greek with Russell Brand in the spinoff of Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

-And Splice with Canada’s own Sarah Polley. Not for those with weak stomachs.
