Weekend Report

Local:

-BIG 105 and Against the Wall Theatre present “Choke” at the Scott Block Theatre downtown. It runs through next weekend and features video game junkie sons so it might hit close to home. Tickets are $18 at the door. Showtime is 8pm.

- Local musician Randi Boulton is having a gig and CD fundraiser at the Hub tonight starting at 7pm. Tickets are $20 at the door or Babycakes Cupcakery.

-“The Arts Gala Fundraiser” supporting the Lacombe Arts Endowment Fund is help Saturday at the Lacombe Memorial Centre. Appetizers and desserts. Tickets are $35 and available by calling 403-782-1258.

Sports:

-BIG 105 presents The 2010 Red Deer Curling Classic at the Red Deer and Michener Curling Clubs. $66,000 in prize money and CTRS points. Tickets are $30 at the door.

- Two games for the Red Deer Rebels this weekend as they continue their US road trip. The boys will be in Portland tonight and then in Tri-City tomorrow taking on the Americans. Both games can be heard on our brother station 106.7 The Drive.

-Meanwhile the Red Deer Optimist Rebels take to the ice against the Calgary Buffalos tonight beginning at 8pm at the Red Deer Arena.

Film:

-Megamind with the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey and Brad Pitt.

-Due Date with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis.

Saturday Night Live features Jane Lynch and musical guest Bruno Mars.
