Weekend Report

Local:

-BIG 105 and Against the Wall Theatre present “Dead Lovers Day”, a rock musical about love, hate, betrayal and insanity. The show runs until April 9th at the Scott Block Theatre. Tickets are $20 at the door.

-Saturday is decision day for Bentley as we find out if they are the winner of Kraft Hockeyville 2011. Activities all day include the pancake breakfast, the skills clinic, the best dressed vehicle contest and the RCMP escort to Red Deer. The winner will be announced during Hockey Night In Canada’s late game.

-BIG 105 and Canyon Ski Resort present Spring Fever 2011 with Tight and Bright Friday, Retro Saturday and the 1st Annual Slush Cup on Sunday. BIG 105 will be on location so stop by for your swag.

- Spring Break - Extended Public / Lane Swim added to the schedule at the Recreation Centre. Come in out of the cold for fitness and fun! Regular admission rates apply. $2.50 for children (3 - 12 years) $3.50 for youth (13-17 years) $4.75 for adult (18 plus)

Sports:

-The Red Deer Rebels enjoy some time off after the sweep of the Edmonton Oil Kings. Tickets for games one and two of the second round go on sale Saturday at 10:00am.

-The Red Deer Midget AAA Optimist Rebels are in B.C. Friday for the opening game of the Pacific Regional Championship. They take on the Vancouver Northwest Giants in a best of three with the winner advancing to the national championship.

-The Bentley Generals looking to increase their lead towards the McKenzie Cup Friday as they entertain Fort St. John. Game two begins at 7:00pm.

Film:

-Hop, a comedy with James Marsden and the voice of Russell Brand.

-Source Code, a sci-fi thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal.

-Insidious, a horror with Patrick Wilson.

The Lotto Max jackpot is $50million with an estimated 8 MaxMillions draws.

Saturday Night Live features host and musical guest Elton John.
